🇸🇦Saudi Arabia🇱🇦LaosSA-LA Saudi Arabia to Laos visa requirements
Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holders need a visa for Laos. The recommended route is the official Lao eVisa (USD 50, single entry, 30-day stay), applied online before travel. A 30-day visa on arrival is also available at designated airports and land borders for Saudi nationals. A Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holder cannot enter Laos visa-free; a visa is required for tourism. Two channels are open. The primary, recommended option is the Lao eVisa obtained through the official government portal (laoevisa.gov.la): it costs USD 50, grants a single entry, allows a stay of up to 30 days, and the eVisa approval is valid for 60 days from issuance (you must enter within that window). Standard processing is about 3 working days. The eVisa can be used at 9 designated ports including Wattay International Airport (Vientiane), Luang Prabang and Pakse airports, and several Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge crossings and railway checkpoints. Alternatively, Saudi nationals are eligible for Laos visa on arrival (VOA) at major international airports and border crossings; VOA also grants 30 days and costs around USD 40-45 paid in cash at the counter, requiring a passport photo and a local accommodation address. Saudi Arabia does not appear on the Lao VOA ineligibility list. The 30-day stay (eVisa or VOA) can be extended at the Lao Immigration Department in Vientiane, generally up to a maximum of 90 days. Passport must be valid at least 6 months with at least one blank page; proof of onward travel and sufficient funds may be requested. For predictability and to avoid airport queues and cash issues, the eVisa is recommended over VOA.
