🇸🇦Saudi Arabia🇰🇼KuwaitSA-KW Saudi Arabia to Kuwait visa requirements
No visa is required. As a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member, Saudi Arabia gives its citizens freedom of movement throughout the GCC, so a Saudi ordinary passport holder enters Kuwait visa-free for tourism and short visits. You may travel with either your Saudi passport or your Saudi national ID card. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are both founding members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), whose nationals enjoy reciprocal freedom of movement, residence, work and study. A Saudi Arabian citizen holding an ordinary passport needs no visa to enter Kuwait for tourism or a short visit and is admitted at any land, air or sea port of entry. Uniquely among most border crossings, GCC citizens may present a valid GCC (Saudi) national identity card instead of a passport, and there is no fixed maximum stay tied to a visa, since GCC nationals are not treated as ordinary visitors. Kuwait is in the Arabian Gulf, not the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply. Note the distinction between GCC citizens and GCC residents: this visa-free privilege applies only to Saudi citizens; expatriates merely resident in Saudi Arabia do not qualify and would instead use Kuwait's e-visa or visa-on-arrival channel. A planned GCC Unified Tourist Visa ("GCC Grand Tours") is being trialed in 2026 for residents/tourists, but it does not change the existing visa-free status of GCC citizens. Travelers should still carry a valid travel document and proof of Saudi nationality; the national ID card is widely accepted at GCC borders.
