🇸🇦Saudi Arabia🏳GreenlandSA-GL Saudi Arabia to Greenland visa requirements
Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Greenland. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark but is NOT in the Schengen Area or EU, and a Schengen visa is not valid there. Because Saudi nationals are visa-required for the Schengen list (the basis Greenland uses), they must apply in advance for a Danish-issued short-stay visa specifically valid for Greenland, typically through VFS Global in Saudi Arabia. Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark but lies outside both the European Union and the Schengen Area. It applies the Schengen visa-exemption lists to decide who may enter visa-free for short stays of up to 90 days: nationals exempt from Schengen short-stay visas may also visit Greenland without a visa. Saudi Arabia is NOT on the Schengen visa-exemption list, so Saudi ordinary passport holders require a visa. Crucially, a Schengen visa (or a Danish national visa) is NOT valid for Greenland: a separate visa explicitly marked valid for Greenland must be obtained, issued by the Danish Immigration Service / a Danish diplomatic mission. The same application form can cover both a Schengen visa (needed because nearly all routings transit Denmark/Copenhagen) and the Greenland visa. ETIAS does not apply, since Greenland is outside Schengen. In Saudi Arabia, applications are handled by VFS Global on behalf of the Royal Danish Embassy. The visa fee follows the Schengen short-stay rate (EUR 80 / about SAR 320), plus a VFS service fee; processing is generally about 15 calendar days but can take longer in peak season. The maximum short tourist stay is 90 days within any 180-day period.
