Saudi Arabia to Algeria visa requirements

Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Algeria for tourism. There is no general eVisa or visa-free entry. A consular (embassy) tourist visa must be obtained in advance from the Algerian Embassy in Riyadh. A limited visa-on-arrival exists only for travelers on accredited, pre-organized tours to Algeria's southern (Saharan) regions. As of May 2026, Algeria requires Saudi Arabian ordinary passport holders to obtain a tourist visa before traveling. Algeria has no visa-waiver or mutual visa-exemption agreement with Saudi Arabia, and despite repeated government announcements (since 2020 and again at the 2024 Saharan Tourism Fair), a general electronic visa (eVisa) for ordinary tourism has not yet been launched and is not available to Saudi travelers for standard short visits. The standard route is a paper/consular short-stay (tourist) visa obtained from the Embassy of Algeria in Riyadh before departure: applicants submit a passport valid at least six months, application forms, photos, proof of accommodation/onward travel and supporting documents. The only exception is a visa-on-arrival (valid up to 30 days) granted to visitors traveling on tours to certain southern/Saharan regions arranged through an Algerian government-accredited travel agency. Because no confirmed visa-free or open eVisa channel exists for general tourism, the conservative and correct verdict is visa-required. Fees are typically in the range of roughly USD 60-100 equivalent depending on entries and processing, paid in local currency at the consulate; processing commonly takes about 5-20 business days.
