Saudi Arabia to Czechia visa requirements

Yes. Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holders need a Schengen visa to visit Czechia for tourism. Czechia is in the Schengen Area and Saudi nationals are not on the visa-exempt list, so you must apply for a short-stay (Type C) Schengen visa before travel, normally through VFS Global on behalf of the Czech Embassy in Riyadh. ETIAS does NOT apply to you because it is only for visa-exempt nationalities. Czechia (the Czech Republic) is a full member of the Schengen Area. Holders of an ordinary Saudi Arabian passport are not visa-exempt for Schengen, so a short-stay Schengen visa (Type C) is required for tourism. Applications from residents of Saudi Arabia are submitted to VFS Global visa application centres in Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar (and Manama/Muscat) on behalf of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riyadh, which has outsourced receipt of short-stay applications to VFS since 2015. The standard adult consular fee is EUR 90 (in effect since June 2024), plus a VFS service fee and mandatory travel medical insurance; real out-of-pocket cost is typically EUR 150-200. A Schengen visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the whole Schengen Area, not only Czechia. Apply with Czechia as your main destination if it is where you will spend the most time. Standard decision time is 15 calendar days, extendable up to 45 days in individual cases; applications can be lodged up to 6 months before travel and no later than 15 working days before departure. The EU's ETIAS travel authorisation (expected late 2026) is for visa-exempt travellers only and therefore does not apply to Saudi passport holders, who continue to need a full Schengen visa. Note: the EU has discussed facilitating future visa-free entry for Saudi citizens, but as of 2026-05-30 no such waiver is in force and a Schengen visa remains mandatory.
