Russian Federation to Vanuatu visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders can travel to Vanuatu visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days under the bilateral Russia–Vanuatu visa waiver agreement that entered into force on 21 October 2016. No visa or eVisa is required before travel. A holder of an ordinary Russian Federation passport does not need a visa to visit Vanuatu for tourism or a short visit. This is the result of a mutual (reciprocal) visa-waiver agreement signed by Vanuatu and Russia on 20 September 2016, which entered into force on 21 October 2016. The agreement permits visa-free stays of up to 90 days; some sources note that visa-exempt visitors may be admitted for tourist stays of up to 120 days at the discretion of the immigration officer, but 90 days is the figure to rely on. At the border, travellers are simply granted a free tourist entry stamp — there is no advance application, eVisa, ETA, or visa-on-arrival fee for this nationality. Standard entry conditions still apply: a passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages, a confirmed onward or return ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds. Vanuatu is a Pacific island nation and is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travellers intending to work, study, or stay long-term need a separate permit and must not rely on the visa waiver. As always, confirm current rules with the airline and Vanuatu immigration before departure, since border officers retain discretion over admission and length of stay.
