Russian Federation to Türkiye visa requirements

No visa is required. Russian ordinary passport holders can enter Turkey visa-free for tourism for up to 60 days per entry, capped at 90 days within any 180-day period. Russian Federation ordinary (regular) passport holders do not need a visa to travel to Turkey (Turkiye) for tourism or short business visits. Under the longstanding bilateral visa-exemption arrangement, Russian citizens may enter visa-free and stay up to 60 days per single visit, with a cumulative limit of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. This arrangement remains in force as of 2026. Turkey is NOT part of the Schengen Area and is not an EU member, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and the EU ETIAS travel authorization do NOT apply to entry into Turkey. Travelers simply present a passport valid for the required period and proof of onward travel at the border; no e-Visa, visa-on-arrival, or pre-travel authorization is needed for stays within the exemption. The visa exemption applies to ordinary passports only for tourism/business purposes; it does not extend to journalists on assignment or to certain official-passport categories with different allowances. For stays beyond the visa-free limit, or for work, study, or long-term residence, a visa or residence permit obtained in advance is required. Passengers should ensure their passport meets validity rules (commonly at least 6 months, and at minimum 60 days beyond the intended stay) and be prepared to show onward/return tickets and proof of accommodation or sufficient funds if asked.
