Russian Federation to Sudan visa requirements

A Russian ordinary passport holder needs a visa to enter Sudan for tourism. Russia is not on Sudan's visa-exempt or visa-on-arrival list (only diplomatic/special Russian passports are visa-free), and there is no general tourist eVisa channel. The visa must be obtained in advance from a Sudanese embassy/consulate before travel. As of 2026-05-30, Russian citizens holding ordinary passports must obtain an entry visa from a Sudanese diplomatic mission before traveling to Sudan. Sudan exempts only a handful of nationalities (Egypt, Kuwait, UAE, Yemen, Qatar) and grants visa-on-arrival to a few others (Eritrea, Kenya, Malaysia, Turkey) — Russia is on neither list. Russian diplomatic and special-passport holders enjoy visa-free entry, but this does not extend to ordinary tourist passports. There is no reliable, universally available tourist eVisa for Russian ordinary-passport tourists; applications are processed by embassies/consulates and typically require an invitation or sponsor, accommodation details, a return ticket, passport valid at least 6 months, and a passport photo. After arrival, all foreigners must complete mandatory police (alien) registration within roughly 3 days. Note: Sudan has been in active armed conflict since April 2023, the Russian and most foreign governments advise against all travel, many missions and the eVisa portal have suspended normal operations, and routine tourism is effectively impossible.
