Russian Federation to New Zealand visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit New Zealand. Russia is not on New Zealand's visa-waiver list, so the NZeTA is not available — you must apply for a Visitor Visa before travelling. New Zealand is not in the Schengen area and operates its own immigration system. Citizens of visa-waiver countries can travel on the NZeTA, but Russia is NOT on that list. Therefore a Russian ordinary passport holder must obtain a New Zealand Visitor Visa before travel, normally applied for online via the Immigration New Zealand website or through the Visa Application Centre in Moscow. The Visitor Visa allows tourism and family visits, with stays of up to 6 months (multiple entry) or up to 9 months (single entry) at the discretion of Immigration New Zealand. The base online application fee is around NZD 441, and a separate International Visitor Levy (IVL) of NZD 100 per person applies. Processing is typically completed within about 2 weeks for most applications, though it can take longer. Note that since 2022, processing of Russian applications may face additional scrutiny; apply well in advance. This verdict was verified against the official Immigration New Zealand visa-waiver list, which does not include Russia.
