Russian Federation to Myanmar visa requirements

Russian ordinary-passport holders can enter Myanmar visa-free for tourism, private or business visits for up to 30 days per visit (max 90 days per calendar year) under a mutual visa-waiver agreement that took effect on 27 January 2026. As of 30 May 2026, holders of an ordinary Russian Federation passport do NOT need a visa for short tourist, private or business visits to Myanmar. A mutual visa-exemption agreement, signed in Minsk on 28 October 2025 and confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, entered into force on 27 January 2026. Under it, Russian ordinary-passport holders may stay up to 30 days per visit, with total visa-free stays not exceeding 90 days within any one calendar year. The waiver covers tourism, private visits and business meetings (not paid employment). It does NOT apply to work, study, or permanent residence, which still require an appropriate Myanmar visa. The waiver is limited to ordinary passports; the agreement is reciprocal (Myanmar ordinary-passport holders enjoy the same access to Russia). Myanmar is in Southeast Asia and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS are not relevant. Travelers should still hold a passport valid at least six months beyond entry, proof of onward/return travel, and confirmed accommodation. Before this agreement, Russians needed a Myanmar tourist eVisa (28-day stay, USD 50). Because the no-visa channel is confirmed by the destination immigration authority and the origin foreign ministry, the verdict is visa-free.
