Russian Federation to Indonesia visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Indonesia but can use the Visa on Arrival (VOA / e-VOA, type B1) for tourism. It costs IDR 500,000, allows a 30-day stay, and can be extended once for another 30 days. Russia's earlier visa-free status was cancelled in 2022, so VOA (or applying online via the official Molina e-VOA portal before departure) is the route for short tourist trips. As of 30 May 2026, holders of an ordinary Russian Federation passport are NOT visa-free for Indonesia. Indonesia withdrew its 30-day visa-free facility for Russian citizens in 2022, but Russia remains on Indonesia's Visa on Arrival list. Russian tourists can therefore obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) at major Indonesian airports, seaports and designated land borders, or apply in advance for the Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) through the official Molina/e-Visa portal (molina.imigrasi.go.id). The VOA/e-VOA is a B1 visit visa intended for tourism, family visits and transit. It costs IDR 500,000, grants a single entry with a maximum stay of 30 days, and can be extended once for a further 30 days (another IDR 500,000) at an immigration office in Indonesia; it cannot be converted into another stay permit. Requirements include a passport valid at least 6 months beyond arrival with a blank page, a confirmed onward/return ticket, and proof of accommodation/funds. A practical issue specific to Russian travelers: due to international banking sanctions, Russian-issued Visa, Mastercard and MIR cards generally do NOT work on the e-VOA online payment gateway, so applicants often need a card issued outside Russia or must pay the VOA in cash/by accepted card on arrival. Indonesia is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Verdict: visa required, with VOA/e-VOA being the standard short-stay tourist channel.
