Russian Federation to Guatemala visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Guatemala. They may enter and stay visa-free for up to 90 days as part of Guatemala's Category B exemption (effective 1 April 2009), provided they hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, proof of onward travel, and sufficient funds. Guatemala grants visa-free entry to holders of ordinary Russian passports for tourism and short visits of up to 90 days. The exemption has been in place since 1 April 2009 and remains current as of 2026; there is no eVisa, visa-on-arrival, or pre-registration requirement for short tourist stays. The 90-day allowance is shared across the entire CA-4 zone (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua) under the Central America-4 Border Control Agreement, meaning time spent moving by land between these four countries counts toward a single 90-day total rather than resetting at each border. The stay may be extended once at Guatemala's immigration authority (Instituto Guatemalteco de Migracion) for up to a further 90 days. Guatemala is in Central America and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Standard entry conditions are a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and evidence of sufficient funds. Travelers should always confirm requirements shortly before departure, as airline boarding checks and immigration officers have final discretion.
