🇷🇺Russian Federation🇬🇲The GambiaRU-GM Russian Federation to The Gambia visa requirements
Russian ordinary passport holders can enter The Gambia visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. Russia appears in the official Gambia Embassy entry list under "Annexure B: No visa required (Countries with Visa Abolition and/or Agreement)." A Russian Federation ordinary passport holder does NOT need a visa for a short tourist visit to The Gambia. The official Gambia Embassy document "Entry into the Republic of The Gambia" (2019 and updated 2023 editions) lists Russia in Annexure B, the "No visa required" category for countries with a visa-abolition or reciprocal agreement, the same status granted to EU and Commonwealth nationals. The maximum visa-free stay for these visitors is 90 days. No advance visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival fee is required for ordinary tourism within this window. Travelers must still hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, with proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds, and may be asked about accommodation. Note: there is a separate 2017 Gambia–Russia bilateral waiver that specifically covers diplomatic passports; however, ordinary Russian passport holders are separately covered by Gambia's broad visa-free entry policy as reflected in the official entry list. A nominal airport security/levy and standard health entry rules may apply on arrival. For stays beyond 90 days, an extension or residence permit from the Gambia Immigration Department is required.
