Russian Federation to Egypt visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders need a tourist visa for Egypt, but it is easy to obtain. You can apply for an e-Visa online before departure (recommended) or get a visa on arrival at Egyptian airports. Both cost USD 30 for a single entry and allow a 30-day stay. Egypt is not visa-free for Russian citizens, but it offers two streamlined channels: an online single-entry tourist e-Visa via the official portal visa2egypt.gov.eg, and a visa on arrival (VoA) purchased at the entry airport. As of March 1, 2026 the single-entry tourist visa fee increased to USD 30 (multiple-entry USD 65). Both grant a stay of up to 30 days. The e-Visa is recommended because it removes the risk of airport queues and confirms entry approval in advance; it should be applied for at least 7 days before travel. A passport valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival and proof of onward travel are required. Travelers visiting only the South Sinai resort area (Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba, Taba) for up to 15 days can receive a free entry permission stamp on arrival instead of a visa, but this does not permit travel to Cairo, Luxor or the rest of Egypt. Egypt is not in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
