Russian Federation to Belize visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to Belize. Under a bilateral visa-waiver agreement in force since 12 January 2022, Russian citizens may enter, transit and stay visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. A Russia (RU) ordinary passport holder can travel to Belize for tourism without obtaining a visa in advance. This is the result of a mutual visa-abolition agreement signed in New York on 23 September 2021 and in force since 12 January 2022, which permits stays of up to 90 days within each 180-day period for ordinary, official and diplomatic passport holders. The agreement covers tourism, transit and short visits; it does NOT cover employment, study or stays exceeding 90 days, for which a visa or permit is still required. At the border, Belize immigration officers grant entry on presentation of a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, evidence of onward/return travel, proof of sufficient funds (a commonly cited benchmark is about USD 75 per day), and an address in Belize. No advance application, eVisa, ETA or visa-on-arrival sticker is needed for nationals covered by the waiver. Belize is in Central America and is not part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. Note that Belize charges a departure/conservation fee when leaving the country, usually included in air tickets. Travelers should carry the passport on which they entered and keep the entry stamp, as the 90-day allowance is counted from the first entry within the rolling 180-day window. Conservative travelers should confirm current rules with IATA Travel Centre or their airline shortly before departure, as bilateral agreements can change.
