Russian Federation to Brazil visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Brazil. They may stay up to 90 days, extendable once for a further 90 days (max 180 days per 12-month period), under the 2010 Brazil-Russia mutual visa-waiver agreement. Brazil and Russia maintain a bilateral visa-exemption agreement (in force since 2010) covering ordinary passport holders traveling for tourism, business, family visits and transit. A Russian citizen with an ordinary passport can enter Brazil visa-free and stay up to 90 days, which can be extended once at the Federal Police for an additional 90 days, capped at 180 days within any 12-month window. Brazil is in South America, not the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies. Importantly, the 2025-2026 reinstatement of Brazil's eVisa requirement affects only specific nationalities (United States, Canada, Australia from April 2025, and 20+ others including France, Mexico and Argentina from January 2026); Russia is NOT among the affected countries and retains visa-free access. Travelers should carry a passport valid for at least 6 months, proof of onward/return travel, and proof of sufficient funds. Yellow fever vaccination may be requested depending on the regions visited. Entry is ultimately at the discretion of the Federal Police (Polícia Federal) at the port of entry.
