Qatar to China visa requirements

Qatari ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short visits to China — they may enter visa-free for up to 30 days per stay. Qatar and China have a permanent mutual visa exemption agreement that entered into force on 21 December 2018, covering ordinary passports of both countries. Under this agreement, a Qatari ordinary passport holder may enter mainland China without any visa and stay for up to 30 days per entry for tourism, business, visiting family and friends, or transit. There is no fee and no application process — you simply present a valid passport at the border. This is a treaty-based reciprocal arrangement and is not affected by the time-limited unilateral visa-free schemes China extended to other Gulf states (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain) in June 2025. If you intend to stay longer than 30 days, or travel for study, work, journalism, or residence, you must obtain the appropriate visa from a Chinese embassy or consulate before departure. Border officers may ask for proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds, so carry supporting documents even though they are not formally required.
