Portugal to Finland visa requirements

No visa required. As an EU citizen, a Portuguese passport holder enjoys full EU freedom of movement and may enter Finland visa-free with a valid passport or national ID card. ETIAS does not apply to EU citizens. Portugal and Finland are both members of the European Union and the Schengen Area. Under EU freedom of movement rules, Portuguese citizens do not need a visa to travel to Finland for tourism, business, family visits, or any short stay, and there is no fixed time limit on visits between EU states for the purpose of tourism — the Schengen 90/180 rule applies to non-EU nationals, not to EU citizens exercising free movement. A Portuguese national may enter Finland with either a valid passport or a valid national identity card; no entry fee, no visa, and no ETIAS authorisation are required (ETIAS applies only to non-EU visa-exempt travellers). Border checks within the Schengen Area are normally absent, though identity may be verified on arrival, especially when flying. If a Portuguese citizen intends to stay and reside in Finland for more than three months, they must register their right of residence with the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) within three months of arrival — this is a registration, not a visa or residence permit, and is free or nominally charged. For ordinary short visits, the traveller simply arrives with a valid travel document and needs no prior paperwork.
