Poland to Russian Federation visa requirements

Polish passport holders need a visa for Russia but qualify for the Russian unified electronic visa (e-visa). Poland is on the 64-country eligibility list, so you apply fully online before travel — no consulate visit needed for a short tourist trip. The e-visa is single-entry, allows a stay of up to 30 days, is valid for 120 days from issue, costs USD 52, and is processed within 4 calendar days. Valid travel medical insurance is mandatory. A Poland (ordinary passport) citizen cannot enter Russia visa-free; a visa is required. However, since the Russian Government expanded the unified e-visa scheme to 64 countries (Poland included) in late 2024/2025, Polish tourists can obtain a single-entry electronic visa entirely online instead of a traditional consular visa. As of the 2025 rule changes (effective 23 August 2025), the unified e-visa permits a stay of up to 30 days within a validity period of 120 days from the date of issue. It is single-entry only. The consular fee is USD 52 (children under 6 are exempt). Applications must be submitted no fewer than 4 calendar days before the intended entry date and are processed within 4 calendar days. The application requires a valid passport (recommended 6 months validity), a digital photo, and — critically — valid travel medical insurance covering the entire stay in Russia. The e-visa is accepted at most major international airports and a defined set of land, sea and pedestrian checkpoints, but NOT at every border crossing, so travelers must verify their intended entry point is e-visa-enabled. Russia is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. If a traveler needs multiple entries, a longer stay, or a non-tourist purpose, a traditional visa from a Russian consulate is required instead.
