Poland to Nigeria visa requirements

Polish ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Nigeria. Since 1 May 2025, Nigeria has moved to a fully online e-Visa system (replacing visa-on-arrival), so Poles apply online for a Tourism Visa (F5A) and receive an Electronic Travel Authorization Letter (eTAL) by email before flying. A Poland (PL) ordinary passport holder traveling to Nigeria for tourism or a short visit requires a visa; there is no visa-free or visa-waiver arrangement between Nigeria and Poland/the EU. As of 1 May 2025 Nigeria discontinued visa-on-arrival for most travelers and launched a fully digital e-Visa platform (evisa.immigration.gov.ng) covering 177 eligible nationalities, including all EU member states such as Poland. For tourism the relevant class is the Tourism Visa (F5A): single entry, up to 30 days stay, valid 90 days from issuance, and not extendable. Applicants complete the form online, upload a passport (6+ months validity), photo, return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation or host address, and a bank statement, then pay online. A decision (the eTAL) is normally returned within 24-48 hours, longer in peak periods such as December. The eTAL must be printed and presented on arrival together with a completed digital Landing Card. Nigeria is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. Default verdict is e-visa (visa-required, fulfilled electronically) and is verified against the Nigeria Immigration Service portal and the Nigerian Embassy in Warsaw.
