Poland to Latvia visa requirements

No visa needed. Polish citizens have EU freedom of movement and can enter Latvia for tourism with just a valid passport or national ID card. Poland and Latvia are both members of the European Union and the Schengen Area. As an EU citizen, a Polish ordinary passport holder enjoys the right to free movement and does not need a visa, eVisa, or any pre-travel authorization to enter Latvia for tourism or a short visit. Travel is permitted with either a valid Polish passport or a valid Polish national ID card. Because both countries are inside the Schengen Area, there are normally no systematic border checks on the internal Poland-Latvia route (in practice travel is via Lithuania, which is also Schengen). The Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule technically exists for visa-exempt travelers, but as an EU citizen exercising treaty free-movement rights a Polish national is not subject to it for visits and may stay indefinitely; if staying longer than 3 months they should register their residence with Latvian authorities. ETIAS, the upcoming EU travel authorization launching for visa-exempt non-EU nationals, does NOT apply to EU citizens such as Poles. No fees apply. Travelers should carry a valid travel document, and standard advice is European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for healthcare access.
