Poland to Laos visa requirements

Polish ordinary passport holders need a visa for Laos. The recommended route is the official Lao eVisa, obtained online before travel — single entry, up to 30 days' stay, valid 60 days from issuance. A visa on arrival is also available at major airports and many land borders. Poland is not on Laos's bilateral visa-exemption list, so an ordinary Polish passport holder must hold a visa to enter for tourism. The cleanest and most predictable option is the official Lao eVisa, applied for at laoevisa.gov.la before departure: it grants a single entry with a maximum stay of 30 days and remains valid for 60 days from the date of issuance, with a standard government fee of about USD 50. Approval normally takes around 3 working days (excluding weekends and public holidays), and travellers print the approval to present on arrival. As an alternative, Laos offers a visa on arrival to eligible nationalities (including Poles) at the international airports of Vientiane (Wattay), Luang Prabang and Pakse and at most major land borders with Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and China; the VOA fee is paid in US dollars cash and also grants a 30-day stay. Because not every land crossing supports VOA and queues can be long, applying for the eVisa in advance is the safest choice. Stays can be extended at the Immigration Department in Vientiane. Laos is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
