Poland to Ethiopia visa requirements
Polish ordinary passport holders need a visa for Ethiopia, but they can apply entirely online for a Tourist eVisa before travel. The single-entry eVisa allows a stay of up to 30 days and costs US$62, processed in about 3 business days. While EU citizens are technically listed for visa-on-arrival at Addis Ababa, Ethiopian authorities now direct virtually all travelers to the online eVisa, so applying in advance is the safe, recommended route. Ethiopia is not a visa-free or Schengen destination for Polish citizens, and it is not in any mutual visa-waiver arrangement with Poland. Ethiopia operates a centralized electronic visa system (evisa.gov.et) that is open to citizens of every country, including Poland. The Tourist eVisa (category VT) is issued as a single-entry visa permitting a stay of up to 30 days; the previously available 90-day long-stay tourist eVisa was discontinued. The government reduced the 30-day tourist eVisa fee from US$82 to US$62 in August 2024. Although Poland, as an EU member state, appears on Ethiopia's visa-on-arrival list for Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, the immigration authority strongly encourages obtaining the eVisa in advance because on-arrival processing can be slow, inconsistent, and is increasingly de-emphasized. Entry must be via Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Applicants need a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry, a digital passport photo, a valid email, and a payment card. The conservative, recommended verdict for a short tourist stay is therefore eVisa. As of 2026-05-30 there were no changes making Ethiopia visa-free for Polish nationals.
