Poland to Algeria visa requirements
Yes - Polish passport holders need a visa to enter Algeria. There is no eVisa or general visa-on-arrival for Polish tourists, so you must apply in advance at the Algerian Embassy in Warsaw (or another Algerian consulate). Algeria requires Polish (EU) citizens to obtain an entry visa before travel; Poland is not on Algeria's visa-exemption list. For tourism, the relevant document is a short-stay tourist visa issued by an Algerian diplomatic or consular mission - in Poland, the Embassy of Algeria in Warsaw. Algeria does not operate a general electronic visa or visa-on-arrival scheme for ordinary tourists: visa-on-arrival is limited to travelers on organized excursions to certain southern (Saharan) destinations arranged through an approved Algerian tour agency, and cruise passengers on organized shore excursions. Although Algeria's government has repeatedly signalled plans to expand visa-on-arrival and roll out an eVisa (a proposal to extend VOA to all provinces was floated in December 2024), no general eVisa is operational for Polish nationals as of mid-2026, so travelers must default to the consular route. A tourist application typically requires a passport valid at least six months, application form, photos, return ticket, proof of accommodation (hotel booking or legalized certificate of accommodation), and mandatory travel/repatriation insurance for EU applicants. Tourist visas are usually issued for short stays of up to 90 days, commonly single-entry. Algeria is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Always confirm current fees and document lists directly with the Algerian Embassy in Warsaw before booking.
