Do Philippines passport holders need a visa to visit Taiwan?

Filipino ordinary passport holders can enter Taiwan visa-free for up to 14 days for tourism. The trial scheme runs through July 31, 2026. As of May 30, 2026, holders of an ordinary Philippine passport may visit Taiwan visa-free for tourism, business, or family visits for a maximum of 14 days. This is a trial program under Taiwan's New Southbound Policy, currently extended for the period August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026. The 14-day stay counts from the day after arrival and cannot be extended. At immigration you must show a passport valid at least six months, a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation (or a host/sponsor's contact details), and evidence of sufficient funds. Diplomatic and official/service passports are NOT covered by this exemption. For any stay longer than 14 days, or for study or work, you must obtain a visitor visa from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Manila before travelling. Travelers should re-check the BOCA website close to departure, since this is a trial measure subject to renewal beyond July 31, 2026.
