🇵🇭Philippines🇸🇰SlovakiaPH-SK Philippines to Slovakia visa requirements
Yes, you need a visa. Philippine ordinary passport holders must obtain a Schengen Type C short-stay (tourist) visa BEFORE traveling to Slovakia. The Philippines is not on the EU visa-exempt list, so ETIAS does not apply to you. Apply in advance through the BLS Slovakia Visa Application Centre in the Philippines. Slovakia is a member of the Schengen Area, and Philippine passport holders are a visa-required nationality for Schengen. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa channel for Filipino tourists. You must apply for a Schengen Type C uniform short-stay visa, which allows tourism stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across all 29 Schengen states. Because the Philippines is NOT among the roughly 60 visa-exempt nationalities, you are not eligible for ETIAS (the EU travel authorization expected to launch in late 2026) and will continue to need a full Schengen visa. Applications for Slovakia from the Philippines are submitted via the BLS International visa application centre; for short-stay visas the Slovak Republic's consular representation arrangements in Manila apply (the Czech Embassy has historically represented Slovakia for some Schengen processing). You must apply in person (biometrics/fingerprints are collected for applicants over 12), provide travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, and show proof of accommodation, return travel, and sufficient funds. The standard adult consular fee is EUR 80, rising to EUR 90 from 11 June 2026; BLS adds a separate service fee. Processing is typically around 15 calendar days but can extend to 30-60 days in busy periods, so apply early (no earlier than 6 months and at least 15 days before departure).
