Do Philippines passport holders need a visa to visit NO?

Filipino ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Norway for tourism. There is no visa-free entry, visa-on-arrival, or ETIAS option for Philippine ordinary passports. Norway is part of the Schengen Area, and the Philippines is not on the Schengen visa-exempt list. A Philippine ordinary passport holder must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C / visitor) visa before departure. Applications are lodged through VFS Global in Manila or Cebu, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok adjudicates them. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. The visa fee is EUR 90 plus a VFS service fee. Standard processing is up to 15 working days, though applicants should apply at least 4 weeks ahead (and can apply up to 6 months before travel). Note: ETIAS (launching Q4 2026) does NOT apply to Filipinos, who remain visa-required; only nationals of visa-exempt countries use ETIAS. Holders of Philippine diplomatic/official passports are visa-exempt, but this guide covers ordinary passports.
