Philippines to Iran visa requirements
Philippine ordinary passport holders need a visa for Iran. The recommended route is the official Iran eVisa (a "visa grant notice" obtained in advance through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs e-visa portal). Visa on arrival is also available to Filipinos at major Iranian airports for a 30-day tourist stay, but a pre-approved grant code is strongly advised to avoid being denied boarding. As of 2026, the Philippines is not on Iran's visa-free list, so a Filipino traveling for tourism requires a visa. Two channels exist for ordinary passport holders. The preferred channel is the eVisa: you submit an application on the Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (evisatraveller.mfa.ir), receive a visa grant notice/authorization code, and the visa is then stamped at an Iranian embassy or on arrival. Filipinos are NOT on the list excluded from visa on arrival (which covers the USA, UK, Canada, Colombia, Somalia, Bangladesh, Jordan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India), so VOA at major airports (Imam Khomeini/Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan, Kish, etc.) is technically possible for a 30-day tourist stay, extendable. However, airlines often require a confirmed visa grant code before boarding, and walk-up VOA can be refused, so applying online in advance is the safe choice. The tourist visa typically allows a single entry, 30-day stay (extendable twice up to 90 days total). Mandatory Iran-valid travel medical insurance must be purchased (usually at the airport if not already held). A passport valid at least six months is required. Note Iran's strict rule: travelers with an Israeli stamp or evidence of travel to Israel (within roughly the last year) may be refused entry. Iran is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
