Philippines to Iraq visa requirements

Yes, a visa is required. A Philippines ordinary passport holder cannot enter Iraq visa-free or with a straightforward visa on arrival. Since 1 March 2025 Iraq suspended visa-on-arrival for most travellers. Filipinos must arrange a visa before travel: either an Iraqi embassy/consulate visitor visa, or, where eligible, the federal Iraq eVisa (evisa.iq). For the Kurdistan Region, Filipinos fall under "List B" and need a local guarantor/sponsor to apply for the regional eVisa. A Philippines (PH) ordinary passport is not on Iraq's visa-free or simple visa-on-arrival list. Iraq abolished visa-on-arrival for most nationalities effective 1 March 2025, moving to a pre-arranged electronic visa for many travellers while others must still use an embassy visa. The Philippines is not among the 37 countries explicitly migrated from VOA to the federal eVisa, and authoritative aggregators (Sherpa) state Filipinos require an embassy visa for federal Iraq, with eVisa eligibility to be confirmed on the official portal. Because a guaranteed no-embassy channel cannot be firmly confirmed for ordinary Filipino passports, the conservative, reliable verdict for a short tourist visit is visa-required: obtain a visitor visa from an Iraqi embassy/consulate before departure, or apply through the official federal eVisa portal (evisa.iq) if the portal confirms eligibility. The federal visa typically permits about a 30-day stay and costs roughly USD 160 (eVisa); embassy fees vary. Separately, the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region runs its own e-Visa system where Filipinos are "List B" and need a registered local guarantor (hotel, tour operator, law firm) to submit and pay (administrative fee 100,000 IQD, up to 5 working days). A federal Iraq visa is valid for all of Iraq including Kurdistan; a Kurdistan-only visa is not valid for federal Iraq. Confirm your eligible visa channel
Decide whether you are visiting federal Iraq (Baghdad, Basra, etc.) or only the Kurdistan Region (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok). Federal Iraq requires a federal visa valid countrywide; a Kurdistan-only visa is not valid for federal Iraq.
