Philippines to Israel visa requirements

Philippine ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for Israel and may stay up to 90 days, but since 1 January 2025 they must obtain an approved ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) online before boarding their flight. Israel has granted visa-free entry to Filipino tourists since 1969, and that visa exemption remains in force in 2026: a Philippine ordinary passport holder does NOT need to apply for a traditional consular tourist visa for a short visit and may stay up to 90 days. However, the entry process changed on 1 January 2025. Israel now requires every traveler from a visa-exempt country, including the Philippines, to hold an approved ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization for Israel) before departure. The ETA-IL is applied for entirely online through the official Israeli Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) portal (israel-entry.piba.gov.il) or the ETA-IL mobile app, costs ILS 25, and is normally approved within minutes up to 72 hours. Once granted it is valid for two years (or until the passport expires, whichever is sooner) and allows multiple entries, each visit being up to 90 days. Airlines will deny boarding to passengers without an approved ETA-IL, so it is now an essential pre-travel step even though no visa fee or consular appointment is involved. At the border, the final admission decision still rests with the immigration officer, and travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. The correct classification for this route is therefore an ETA (electronic travel authorization), not a full visa and not pure visa-free entry. Travelers should apply only through the official government site to avoid third-party reseller surcharges.
