Do Philippines passport holders need a visa to visit CH?

Filipino ordinary passport holders need a Schengen Type C short-stay visa to visit Switzerland for tourism. It must be obtained before travel via VFS Global in Manila for the Embassy of Switzerland. The Philippines is a visa-required nationality for the Schengen Area, which includes Switzerland. A Filipino ordinary passport holder cannot enter Switzerland visa-free for tourism; you must apply for a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before departure. Applications are lodged at the VFS Global Switzerland Visa Application Centre in Manila on behalf of the Embassy of Switzerland, and you must be a resident of the Philippines (a Philippine residence permit is required for non-citizens). The visa allows stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. The standard adult fee is EUR 80, payable in pesos, plus a VFS service charge (around PHP 1,245). Decisions are normally issued within 15 calendar days, though it can take longer in peak season, and you may apply up to 6 months before travel. ETIAS (the visa-waiver travel authorisation launching in late 2026) does NOT apply to Filipinos because it only covers visa-exempt nationalities; Filipinos continue to need a full Schengen visa. The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is now operational and is being phased in at external borders (full rollout by April 2026), meaning biometric registration on arrival.
