Do Philippines passport holders need a visa to visit BE?

Philippine ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Belgium for tourism. The Philippines is not on the EU visa-exempt list, so ETIAS does not apply — a full Schengen visa must be obtained in advance through VFS Global in Manila before travel. Belgium is a member of the Schengen Area, and the Philippines is a visa-required nationality for Schengen short stays. A Filipino ordinary passport holder cannot enter Belgium visa-free and is not eligible for ETIAS (which serves only visa-exempt nationalities). Instead, you must apply for a Schengen short-stay visa Type C for tourism before departure. Because Belgium is your main destination (or first point of entry), the application is lodged with the Embassy of Belgium via the VFS Global Visa Application Centre in Manila. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the whole Schengen Area. The standard visa fee is EUR 90 for adults (paid in pesos at the embassy's exchange rate), plus VFS service charges, and biometrics (fingerprints and photo) are collected at the centre. Apply no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 working days before travel; allow about 15 calendar days for standard processing. Note that since 10 April 2026 the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) records entries and exits digitally at the Schengen external border.
