New Zealand to Vietnam visa requirements

Kiwis need a Vietnam e-Visa (USD 25 single, USD 50 multi) valid up to 90 days; apply online at evisa.gov.vn. New Zealand passport holders are not on Vietnam's visa-exemption list and must apply for a Vietnam e-Visa before travel. Since August 2023, the e-Visa is valid for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, and is accepted at all 33+ international ports of entry. Apply at evisa.gov.vn (official) for USD 25 single or USD 50 multiple entry; processing takes 3 working days. No direct flights operate from NZ - most Kiwi travellers connect from Auckland (AKL) and Christchurch (CHC) via Sydney (SYD), Singapore (SIN), Hong Kong (HKG), or Bangkok (BKK) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) or Hanoi (HAN). Vietnam is an increasingly popular leisure destination for Kiwi travellers given lower costs than Thailand. Use only the official evisa.gov.vn site.
