Netherlands to Palestinian Territory visa requirements

Palestine has no independent visa system. Entry to the West Bank (and, where possible, Gaza) is controlled entirely by Israeli authorities, so a Netherlands passport holder follows Israel's rules. As an EU/visa-exempt national you do NOT need a stamped visa, but since 1 January 2025 you MUST obtain an approved ETA-IL (Israel Electronic Travel Authorization) online before boarding. It costs about NIS 25, is valid up to 2 years for multiple entries, and permits stays of up to 90 days. Palestine (the West Bank and Gaza) does not operate its own border control or visa policy; the Wikipedia visa-policy summary and the UK FCDO both confirm that "there are no visa conditions imposed on foreign nationals other than those imposed by the visa policy of Israel." A Dutch (ordinary) passport holder therefore enters under Israeli immigration rules, typically via Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport or the Allenby Bridge (King Hussein) crossing from Jordan, then proceeds overland to Palestinian Authority areas such as Ramallah, Bethlehem or Hebron. Netherlands nationals are visa-exempt for Israel for short tourist stays, but as of 1 January 2025 every visa-exempt traveller (including all EU citizens) must hold an approved ETA-IL before travel; airlines deny boarding without it. The ETA-IL costs NIS 25, is generally valid for up to two years (or until passport expiry) for multiple visits, and grants up to 90 days per entry. Decisions usually arrive within 72 hours, often within hours. On arrival travellers receive a paper entry slip rather than a passport stamp. Note that Israeli officers sometimes restrict entry stamps to "Palestinian Authority only" areas, and Gaza is effectively closed to ordinary tourists. Palestine is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. Because there is no Palestinian no-visa channel independent of Israel, the practical verdict is an ETA (the Israeli ETA-IL) for a short Dutch tourist visit.
