Netherlands to Namibia visa requirements

Dutch passport holders now need a visa for Namibia. Visa-free entry was abolished on 1 April 2025; you get a visa on arrival (N$1,600), but applying for the e-Visa online in advance is strongly recommended. Until 31 March 2025, Netherlands ordinary passport holders could enter Namibia visa-free for up to 90 days. Effective 1 April 2025, the Namibian Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security abolished visa-free entry for the Netherlands and roughly 30 other (mostly European and Western) countries, citing a lack of reciprocity. Dutch tourists now require a visa. The standard channel is a Visa on Arrival (VOA) issued at major ports of entry for a fee of N$1,600 (about EUR 80-85) for non-African Union nationals. Namibia also operates an online e-Visa / pre-approved Visa on Arrival system, and authorities strongly recommend applying online in advance via the Ministry's e-Services portal to avoid border queues and reduce the risk of being turned away. The visa allows a short tourist stay (typically up to 90 days within a 12-month period, issued for the period requested), and travelers must hold a passport valid at least 6 months with at least 3 blank pages and a return/onward ticket. Namibia is in Southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
