Netherlands to Mozambique visa requirements

Dutch passport holders are visa-exempt for Mozambique but must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online before travelling for tourism stays of up to 30 days. The Netherlands is one of 29 countries in Mozambique's visa-exemption program for tourism and business. However, since the National Immigration Service introduced a mandatory pre-travel authorization in 2025, visa-exempt nationals must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before departure rather than simply arriving with their passport. The ETA is not a full visa but a pre-clearance for exempt travelers. Applications are made through the official portal at evisa.gov.mz, which was relaunched on 11 February 2026 in partnership with VFS Global as the single digital entry point for all ETA and eVisa formalities. Travelers should avoid unofficial third-party sites. An approved ETA permits a stay of up to 30 days (extendable by a further 30 days in-country upon justification) and is valid 60 days from issue. At the border, travelers present the approved ETA (printed or on a mobile device) together with a passport valid for at least six months, proof of accommodation, a return or onward ticket, and evidence of sufficient funds. A processing/administrative fee of MZN 650 (about US$10) is collected on arrival in addition to the online ETA charge. Mozambique is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Airlines now verify ETA compliance before boarding, so authorization must be secured in advance to avoid being denied boarding.
