Since 1 January 2024 all foreign visitors must complete the free online Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within 3 days before arrival. Most Dutch travellers fly KLM or Malaysia Airlines direct from Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL), or connect via Doha (Qatar Airways), Dubai (Emirates), or Istanbul (Turkish Airlines). Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, and Borneo (Sabah/Sarawak) are popular destinations for Dutch travellers. Work, study, journalism, and longer stays require an Employment Pass, student visa, or PVP through the Malaysian Embassy in The Hague.
