Netherlands to Mongolia visa requirements

Netherlands passport holders can travel to Mongolia visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days. No visa or eVisa is required for short visits under Mongolia's temporary visa-exemption policy, which is in force through 1 January 2027. As of June 2026, ordinary Netherlands passport holders do not need a visa to visit Mongolia for tourism or short visits of up to 30 days. The Netherlands is one of 34 countries (including most of the EU, the UK, Australia and New Zealand) covered by Mongolia's temporary unilateral visa-exemption program, originally launched in 2023 under the "Years to Visit Mongolia" initiative and extended through 1 January 2027. You simply need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date and onward/return travel documentation. There is no application form and no fee for the visa-free entry itself. The 30-day visa-free stay can typically be extended once by up to 30 additional days at the Mongolia Immigration Agency in Ulaanbaatar if needed. Travelers who intend to stay longer than 30 days in total, or who are visiting for non-tourism purposes (work, study, long-term residence), must register with the Immigration Agency and may need an appropriate visa. Because the exemption is temporary, confirm it remains valid close to your departure date, as the policy is reviewed periodically and could change after 1 January 2027.
