Netherlands to North Macedonia visa requirements

Netherlands passport holders do NOT need a visa for North Macedonia. As an EU/Schengen national you can enter visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. A Netherlands ordinary passport holder enjoys visa-free entry to the Republic of North Macedonia for tourism and short visits. North Macedonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that nationals of EU Member States and Schengen Agreement signatories do not require a visa. The permitted stay is up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. North Macedonia is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so time spent there does not count against your Schengen 90/180 allowance and vice versa; ETIAS does not apply because ETIAS only covers Schengen/EU external borders, not entry into North Macedonia. As an EU citizen you may enter using either a valid passport or a valid national identity card (Dutch ID card). Although North Macedonia is an EU candidate country, it has not joined Schengen or the EU as of mid-2026, and no eVisa, ETA, or visa-on-arrival regime applies to Dutch citizens because none is needed.
