Netherlands to Kazakhstan visa requirements

Netherlands ordinary passport holders can enter Kazakhstan visa-free for tourism and stay up to 30 days per entry — no visa, eVisa, or pre-registration required before travel. Dutch ordinary passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to Kazakhstan under Kazakhstan's unilateral visa-waiver regime, which covers all EU member states (the Netherlands has been included since 15 July 2015 and the policy remains in force in 2026). You may stay up to 30 calendar days per entry, with an unlimited number of visits, but your total stay must not exceed 90 calendar days within any rolling 180-day period (and not more than 120 days per calendar year). No advance visa, eVisa, or electronic travel authorization is needed for citizens — you simply arrive with a valid passport. On arrival you receive a migration card; if you stay in a hotel, registration is handled automatically, but your host (or you) must file an arrival notification within 3 business days for non-hotel stays via the eQonaq portal. Visa-free entry covers tourism, short business and private visits — paid work, study, and missionary activity are not permitted. Kazakhstan is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here; Kazakhstan operates its own separate 90/180 visa-free count.

How to apply

/01
Confirm your passport is valid
Ensure your Dutch ordinary passport is valid for your trip. Kazakhstan does not legally require 6 months beyond entry, but at least 6 months validity and 1-2 blank pages are recommended to avoid airline boarding issues.
· Before booking
/02
Book travel and accommodation
No visa application is needed. Book your flights and hotel. Keep proof of onward/return travel and accommodation, as airlines or border officers may ask for them.
· Proof of onward travel
/03
Check your cumulative day count
Verify you have not already used 90 days in the past 180-day rolling window (or 120 days in the calendar year). The window is counted backward from both entry and exit dates.
· 90/180 rule
/04
Arrive and clear immigration
Present your passport at the border. You will be admitted visa-free for up to 30 days and issued a migration card. Keep the migration card for your entire stay and present it on departure.
· Keep migration card
/05
Ensure arrival registration within 3 business days
If staying in a hotel, registration is automatic. For private accommodation, your host must file an arrival notification via the eQonaq portal or migration service within 3 business days of arrival.
· eQonaq / host notification
/06
Depart within 30 days
Leave Kazakhstan before your 30-day visa-free period expires. To stay longer, you would need to exit and re-enter (subject to the 90/180 limit) or obtain an appropriate visa/permit.
· Avoid overstay fines
