Netherlands to Guatemala visa requirements

No visa needed. Dutch passport holders enter Guatemala visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within the CA-4 region (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua). Netherlands ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for short tourist visits to Guatemala. As an EU member state, the Netherlands is on Guatemala's visa-exempt list, granting visa-free entry for up to 90 days. Crucially, Guatemala participates in the Central America-4 (CA-4) Border Control Agreement, so the 90-day allowance is shared across Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua combined — the clock starts on first entry to any CA-4 country and does not reset when crossing internal CA-4 borders. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and have at least 2 blank pages. Entry is free of charge, with a passport stamp issued on arrival. Since 2024, travellers must complete a free online traveller sworn declaration (declaración jurada del viajero) before arrival and departure, carrying the QR-code confirmation. Overstays beyond 90 days incur a fine payable before departure; extensions of up to a further 90 days can be requested from the immigration authority (Instituto Guatemalteco de Migración). Guatemala is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
