Netherlands to Ghana visa requirements

Netherlands passport holders need a visa for Ghana. Since 25 May 2026, the recommended route is the official Ghana eVisa, applied for online before travel at evisa.immigration.gov.gh. There is no visa-free or standard visa-on-arrival entry for Dutch tourists. A Dutch ordinary passport holder traveling to Ghana for tourism requires a visa; Netherlands is not on any of Ghana's visa-exempt or visa-free lists. On 25 May 2026 Ghana inaugurated a national electronic visa (eVisa) and ETA platform run by the Ghana Immigration Service. African passport holders now use a free ETA, while non-African nationals such as Dutch citizens apply and pay for a tourist eVisa online before departure. The eVisa is single- or multiple-entry, with standard processing of roughly 3-5 business days and faster priority/express tiers available at higher cost. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, upload a recent photo and supporting documents, and present a yellow fever vaccination certificate on arrival. The actual length of authorized stay is granted by the Ghana Immigration Service officer at the port of entry. Visa-on-arrival remains limited to specific categories (e.g., African Union nationals, certain bilateral arrangements, and travelers from countries without a Ghanaian mission) and is not a reliable channel for Dutch tourists, who should obtain the eVisa in advance.
