Netherlands to Georgia visa requirements

Netherlands passport holders can travel to Georgia visa-free for tourism and stay up to 365 days per entry. No visa or e-visa is needed. As of 1 January 2026, all visitors (including visa-free ones) must hold valid travel/health insurance with at least 30,000 GEL coverage for the full stay. Georgia operates one of the world's most generous visa-free regimes for EU nationals. Dutch (Netherlands) ordinary passport holders, as EU citizens, may enter Georgia without a visa and remain for up to 365 days within any 365-day period for tourism, private, or business purposes. Georgia is NOT in the Schengen area and is not an EU member, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering Georgia. EU citizens may even enter on a national ID card instead of a passport. The single major change for 2026: effective 1 January 2026, every foreign visitor must carry valid health and accident insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL (about USD 11,000) covering the entire stay, presentable in Georgian or English; failure to present a valid policy can result in refusal of entry. Border officers may also request proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds. Passports should be valid for the duration of stay (6 months recommended) with a blank page for the entry stamp.
