Netherlands to Egypt visa requirements

Dutch (Netherlands) ordinary passport holders need a visa for Egypt, but can obtain it easily online via the official Egypt e-Visa portal before travel (or as a visa on arrival at major airports). The single-entry tourist e-Visa allows a 30-day stay. Netherlands is not visa-exempt for Egypt, so a visa is required for tourism. The simplest route is the official Egypt e-Visa, applied for online at visa2egypt.gov.eg before departure. Dutch travelers are also eligible for a visa on arrival (VOA), purchased in cash at the arrivals hall of major airports such as Cairo, Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh. Both the single-entry e-Visa and the VOA cost USD 30 following a fee increase effective 1 March 2026 (up from USD 25); the multiple-entry e-Visa is USD 65. The visa permits a stay of up to 30 days per entry and the e-Visa is valid for 90 days from issue. A special exemption applies for tourists landing at Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba or Taba (South Sinai) who stay no more than 15 days and remain in the Sinai resort area, who receive a free entry permission stamp instead of a visa. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival and have at least one to two blank pages. The e-Visa is recommended over VOA to avoid airport queues and to ensure smooth boarding.
