🇳🇱Netherlands🇪🇪EstoniaNL-EE Netherlands to Estonia visa requirements
No visa required. As an EU citizen, a Netherlands passport holder can travel to Estonia visa-free and stay without time limit under EU freedom of movement. Both the Netherlands and Estonia are members of the European Union and the Schengen Area. Under EU freedom of movement, Dutch citizens have an unconditional right to enter, travel, work, study and reside in Estonia and need no visa, residence permit or prior authorisation for any length of stay. The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that EU/EEA nationals do not need a visa to enter Estonia. Because the Netherlands and Estonia are both inside the Schengen Area, there are normally no border checks at internal Schengen crossings, but travellers must still carry a valid passport or national ID card to prove identity and nationality. The 90-days-in-any-180-days Schengen short-stay rule applies only to visa-exempt non-EU travellers and does NOT limit EU citizens. The forthcoming ETIAS travel authorisation (expected to start in the last quarter of 2026) likewise does NOT apply to EU citizens, including Dutch nationals. In short, a Netherlands passport holder needs nothing beyond a valid travel document to visit Estonia.
