Netherlands passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Ecuador. You get a visa-free tourist stamp on arrival for up to 90 days within any 12-month (chronological) period. Dutch ordinary-passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to Ecuador for tourism and short visits. On arrival at any Ecuadorian port of entry, immigration grants a "T-3" tourist stamp permitting a stay of up to 90 days. Crucially, this 90-day allowance is counted across a 12-month "chronological year" that starts on your first entry, NOT per visit, so border runs to Peru or Colombia do not reset the clock. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond arrival, and officers may ask to see an onward/return ticket and proof of sufficient funds. Ecuador is in South America (not the Schengen area), so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS are irrelevant to this route. A one-time 90-day extension (PT-V "Tourist Special permit") can be requested in-country before the initial stay expires, for a fee.
