Malaysia to Vietnam visa requirements
Visa-free up to 30 days under ASEAN reciprocity. Stable since 2002. Malaysian ordinary passport holders enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 30 days per entry under the ASEAN reciprocal visa exemption agreement, in place since 2002. The exemption covers tourism, business meetings, family visits, and transit. There is no online pre-arrival authorization required for ASEAN visa-free travellers. Malaysia-Vietnam travel is high-volume thanks to direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City and a strong shared cultural exchange. For longer stays, the Vietnam e-Visa (USD 25 single / USD 50 multi-entry, valid 90 days) provides an alternative path. For work, study, journalism, or stays beyond 30 days a Vietnamese embassy visa is required from the embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
