Malaysia to Tanzania visa requirements

Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Tanzania for tourism. Malaysia is on Tanzania's official visa-exemption list, so you receive a free Visitor's Pass on arrival for stays of up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and you must show a return/onward ticket. As of 2026, Malaysia is one of the countries whose nationals are exempt from visa requirements to enter Tanzania, confirmed by both the Tanzania Immigration Department and the Tanzania High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. A Malaysian ordinary passport holder traveling for tourism or a short visit does not apply or pay for a tourist eVisa; instead, an immigration officer grants a Visitor's Pass at the port of entry, normally valid for up to 90 days for a single visit. There is no visa fee for exempt nationals. Travelers must still meet standard entry conditions: a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay with at least one blank page, proof of a return or onward ticket, and proof of sufficient funds and accommodation. Tanzania is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from or transiting (more than 12 hours) through a Yellow-Fever-endemic country. Note that the visa-free entry covers tourism and short visits only; work, study, journalism, research, or long stays require the appropriate visa or permit obtained in advance through the official eVisa portal.
