🇲🇾Malaysia🇲🇿MozambiqueMY-MZ Malaysia to Mozambique visa requirements
Malaysian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Mozambique. Malaysia is not on Mozambique's visa-exempt/eTA list, so the recommended channel is the eVisa applied for online before travel via the official portal (evisa.gov.mz), with a visa-on-arrival fallback still available at six designated airports. A Malaysian (MY) ordinary passport holder traveling to Mozambique (MZ) for tourism requires a visa. Mozambique is not in the Schengen area. As of 2026 it operates a tiered system: roughly 29 previously visa-exempt nationalities (US, UK, most EU, Japan, South Korea, UAE, etc.) now use an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA), while all other nationalities, including Malaysia, must obtain a full eVisa. Malaysia is therefore not eligible for the eTA/visa-exempt channel. The eVisa is applied for online through the official National Migration Service / VFS Global portal launched on 11 February 2026 at evisa.gov.mz. The tourist eVisa is issued for 30, 60 or 90 days, single or multiple entry, with the 30-day single-entry tourist visa costing approximately 6,250 MZN (around USD 50). Visa on arrival also remains available for non-exempt travelers at six designated airports (Maputo, Beira, Nampula, Pemba, Tete, Vilankulo) at about USD 50 with proof of an onward ticket, but pre-arrival eVisa is the recommended, lower-risk option. Travelers need a passport valid at least six months beyond arrival with at least two blank pages, proof of accommodation, a return/onward ticket, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from an endemic country. Total stay is capped at 90 days (consecutive or cumulative) within a 12-month period.
