Malaysia to Mali visa requirements

Malaysian passport holders need a visa to visit Mali. Mali launched an official online eVisa / entry-authorization portal in 2025, but payment and final issuance are still routed through the nearest Malian diplomatic mission, so plan ahead. A Malaysia ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-exempt for Mali. Mali waives visas only for ECOWAS members and a short list of states (e.g., Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania, UAE, Hong Kong, Macao); Malaysia is not on it, and Mali generally abolished broad visa-on-arrival back in 2015. As of 2026 the practical route is Mali's official online eVisa / "Autorisation d'entree" system at diplomatiemdc.gouv.ml (launched mid-2025), which collects the application electronically and then routes it to the nearest Malian embassy for fee payment (typically by bank transfer) and issuance. There is no resident Malian embassy in Malaysia, so applications are handled by a regional mission. The short-stay visa allows up to 90 days. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. Travelers should also note that large parts of Mali carry serious security/travel-advisory warnings, but that is separate from the visa decision. Apply only while outside Mali and well before departure, since embassy-handled payment can add days to two weeks.
